Paola Motosi

Paola Motosi is the Head of Policy and Impact at SHERA Research Group (RG).

Paola is a Brazilian researcher and activist for women's rights and human rights. She is an English-Portuguese translator and interpreter and a specialist in human rights and intersectionality. Paola advocates against domestic/sexual violence and supports feminist collectives and organizations, promoting access for survivors of domestic violence to international mechanisms for the protection of human rights. She also runs a website, https://www.meusdireitoshumanos.com/, with accessible information about regional and global human rights organizations. Her main goal is to raise international awareness about human rights violations against domestic violence survivors.

Paola has worked on world-leading research and policy. Her work on violence against women and children in the Brazilian family courts has been featured at the United Nations Human Rights Council (2023) along with her co-authors Dr Dalgarno et al and has also featured in the thematic report of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls, its causes and consequences (UNSRVAWG) (2023). Paola has led on numerous policy inputs into consultations for SHERA RG, including to CEDAW, the United Nations, and directly to global government calls.
